Global National: Nov. 10, 2025 | Canada loses measles elimination status after mass outbreaks

From Global News.

Though initially eliminated in Canada in 1998, measles is making a comeback and the country has officially lost its measles elimination status. Outbreaks have been happening in under-vaccinated and unvaccinated communities in multiple provinces. South of the border, the weather could add to the turbulence surrounding the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. As Jackson Proskow explains, it now looks like the shutdown could finally be nearing its end.

The mental health and well-being of military personnel are paramount. They sacrifice so much to serve their countries and so do their families, who move frequently, spend long periods of time apart from their loved ones, and often witness the battles their partners have with PTSD. And now, the spouses of some Canadian veterans are speaking up. Heidi Petracek reports on what they’re fighting for.

More than 26,000 Canadians came to South Korea’s aid after troops from the north invaded in 1950 – but the conflict is often referred to as “The Forgotten War.” Mike Armstrong looks back on the sacrifices of those who came home to little fanfare.
