Children born into low-income families are likely to stay poor. According to the World Economic Forum, it can take on average between four and five generations for a child born into a low-income family to reach their country’s average income. Meanwhile, those born wealthy are likely to stay wealthy and even get richer.
An Oxfam report found that although global inequality has improved to some degree in the last decades, wealth disparity remains a huge issue.
A lot of potential talent is lost or remains underdeveloped when people cannot progress in their career or improve their circumstances. Even knowing there’s the chance to better your family’s financial situation boosts well-being and life satisfaction significantly.
