Palestinians living in tent cities along the coast faced flooding after heavy rain and storm surges in recent days, destroying shelters, soaking mattresses and bringing new misery on the heels of floods that hit last week.

The Hamas-run Gaza government estimated losses from the stormy weather at around $4.5 million, including 22,000 tents, spoiled food and medicines and damage to infrastructure.
