18 killed after explosion at Pakistan glue factory

At least 18 people are dead after a boiler explosion at a glue factory in Faisalabad, Pakistan on Friday.

As well as the fatalities, the blast injured several others, triggered a fire at the factory, and damaged nearby homes.

The explosion is believed to have been triggered by an internal gas leak, according to Punjab rescue officials.

Authorities have arrested the factory’s manager, and are seeking the owner of the facility, who allegedly fled the scene shortly after the blast.
