Miss Mexico was declared the winner of the 2025 Miss Universe pageant Thursday evening.
Fatima Bosch, 25, of Mexico, is the fourth Mexican woman to hold the Miss Universe title. She became a fan favorite after a controversy with the pageant director went viral during a pre-pageant event.
In the viral video, Nawat Itsaragrisil berated Bosch in public for not adhering to all promotional guidelines for Thailand, calling her “dumbhead.” She led a walkout that included many of the contestants. Nawat later apologized for his actions.
It wasn’t the only controversy of the pageant. Two Miss Universe judges also resigned days before the pageant was held. One accused organizers of pre-selecting the finalists ahead of the competition. The other announced his resignation for “unforeseen personal reasons.”
The Miss Universe Organization denied the claims in a statement.
