"Many in our workforce have missed bill payments…some are sleeping in their cars, selling their blood and plasma, and taking on second jobs to make ends meet."

TSA’s acting chief Ha Nguyuen McNeill told lawmakers that more than 480 airport screeners have quit since the DHS shutdown began last month. McNeill added the workforce stands to lose $1 billion in missed paychecks if the shutdown continues through Friday.
