In U.S. President Donald Trump’s push for peace to end a war his country has been driving forward alongside Israel, Iran continues to put up a fight, carrying out strikes in central Tel Aviv, and justifying its actions to the United Nations in Geneva.
Twenty-six days in, the White House is aiming to get some kind of peace deal drafted, but it’s doing so as it deploys thousands of troops to the region.
Trust issues run deep with Iran, which has been struck twice during negotiations in the past year and its leaders don’t want to meet with the existing envoys.
“The U.S. is negotiating with itself,” the Iranian National Guard said.
