How Costco quietly built a multibillion-dollar clothing empire

Costco has become one of the world’s biggest clothing retailers. From 2019 to 2024, it grew its annual apparel segment sales from $7 billion to $9.7 billion, a nearly 40% increase, according to estimates by GlobalData.

While the apparel segment is still a relatively small portion of Costco’s overall sales, it brings in more though its offering of popular brands and private label Kirkland Signature than some of the world’s largest apparel retailers like Abercrombie & Fitch and Old Navy.
