Indigenous peoples mark the start of COP30 talks, as world leaders meet in Brazil in an effort to show that climate change remains a top global priority despite broken promises and the United States’ shunning the gathering. Dozens of heads of state and government are in the rainforest city of Belem ahead of next week’s UN climate talks that come after scientists confirmed the safer limit of the Paris Agreement would be breached.
