Teacher Abby Zwerner sued the former assistant principal, Ebony Parker, at her school claiming that she failed to act after four people told her Zwerner’s 6-year-old student had brought a gun to school. The jurors deliberated for more than five hours before finding for the teacher and awarded her $10 million. Zwerner’s lawyers spoke outside the court. Attorneys for the assistant principal said no one could have foreseen that a 6-year-old would bring a firearm to school.
