White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt holds a briefing as Iran reviews a U.S. proposal to end the war, despite an initial negative response, according to a senior Iranian official who spoke to Reuters.
 
The briefing also comes after a Reuters/Ipsos poll found President Donald Trump’s approval rating fell in recent days to its lowest point since he returned to the White House, hit by a surge in fuel prices and widespread disapproval of the war he launched on Iran.
