President Donald Trump has recently called upon Republicans to end the filibuster in Congress in order to work around Democrats to reopen the government as the current shutdown nears the 40-day mark. But, as The Briefing’s Jen Psaki points out, the president seemed to have said "the quiet part out loud" about the real motivations for ending the long-standing congressional rule during a recent press conference.
