Sarah Mullally enthroned as 1st ever female Archbishop of Canterbury

From Global News.

The first woman to ever lead the Church of England has been installed.

Wednesday marked the start of Dame Sarah Mullaly’s public ministry as the Archbishop of Canterbury and spiritual leader of 85 million Anglicans worldwide.

In her inaugural sermon, Mullaly— a former nurse— reflected on the power of hope and acknowledged the people harmed by "the failures" of those in Christian churches.

The traditional ceremony was attended by about two thousand guests, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and both William and Kate— the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Ahead of that sermon, Mullally told the BBC that she recognizes the “significance of being the first female archbishop,” encouraging not only the celebration of women but also for people to pursue their dreams.
