Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in Birmingham ahead of the football match between Aston Villa and Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv, which had seen fans of the Israeli team banned. Tensions ran high as a few dozen Israel supporters also gathered.
