Two dead after plasma donation at Winnipeg private collection centres

From Global News.

Health Canada says two people died after donating plasma at two private collection centres in Winnipeg. One incident occurred in October 2025 and the other in January 2026.

Health Canada hasn’t named the deceased and no link has been established between the plasma collection process and the deaths.

Canadian Blood Services, which manages the national blood and plasma supply system, says the rate of a serious adverse reaction is less than one in every 10,000 donations.
