From BBC News.
Former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were back in court in New York after being charged with narco-terrorism and weapons offences.
After US forces seized Nicolás Maduro and his wife, US President Donald Trump said that the pair "now face American justice" for their "campaign of deadly narco-terrorism" against the US and its citizens.
Trump also called Maduro an "illegitimate dictator" who was responsible for bringing "colossal amounts of deadly illicit drugs" into the US, and accused him of overseeing the Cartel de los Soles.
Maduro has denied being a cartel leader and has accused the US of using its "war on drugs" as an excuse to depose him and get its hands on Venezuela’s vast oil reserves.
