At the G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in France Thursday, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand urged allies to support a proposed defence bank to help smaller firms access capital.

She says the plan would boost military supply as global demand rises.

Anand also reaffirmed Canada’s position on Ukraine, saying "the geographical boundaries of Ukraine… are Ukraine’s alone to make, full stop."

Ottawa is also looking at additional energy support for Ukraine as attacks on infrastructure continue.
