Police in Portland, Ore., say a man and a woman are in hospital after a shooting involving two federal agents Thursday afternoon. Authorities say the agents are members of Customs and Border Protection and not ICE officers.

In a statement posted on X, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said agents were conducting a targeted vehicle stop, and they opened fire when the occupants in the car fled.
