A Black woman in the US was discharged from a hospital while being in active labor. Mercedes Wells, an Indiana resident, says that she had contractions one minute apart when a nurse told her and her family to go home. Minutes later, Wells gave birth to her baby in a car on the side of a highway with the help of her husband. The family is now asking for accountability.
