Carney to meet Trump at FIFA World Cup draw for 1st time since US-Canada trade talks stalled

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will travel to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw on Friday.

While in the U.S. capital, Carney is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

As Global’s Mackenzie Gray reports, this will be Carney’s first meeting with Trump since he halted U.S.-Canada trade talks.
