From AFP News Agency.
Twenty-five people have been killed in a fire at a nightclub in India’s coastal Goa state, a region popular with tourists. According to Goa’s fire service, there was a "fire show" organised at the Birch nightclub in the northern town of Arpora, which triggered the blaze. Fires are common in India due to poor building practices, overcrowding and a lack of adherence to regulations. In May, at least 17 people died after a fire in a building in Hyderabad. The previous month, at least 15 were killed in a hotel fire in Kolkata.
