Maria Corina Machado, a Venezuelan opposition leader, has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Her daughter, Ana Corina Machado, accepted the prestigious award on her behalf and said that Machado will arrive in Oslo later today. Venezuela’s opposition is widely regarded as having won the 2024 presidential election. Earlier, there was speculation about Machado’s whereabouts, as she has spent most of the last year in hiding.
