A town in Germany’s southern state of Bavaria celebrated ‘Rauhnacht,’ or Rough Night — a tradition that marks the 12 days between Christmas and Epiphany, where in some Alpine folk traditions people dress up as devils, witches and other mythical beings to disperse evil spirits and winter.
