Just hours before New Year’s Eve celebrations, French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez visited the Domont gendarmerie brigade (Val-d’Oise), which was carrying out roadside checks. The minister called for "firmness and responsiveness" from the 90,000 law enforcement officers mobilised for the 31 December festivities during a meeting with regional prefects on Monday.
