Thousands from around the world packed New York City’s Times Square on New Year’s eve to welcome the start of 2026.

They braved the cold for hours enjoying the music and festivities before outgoing Mayor Eric Adams pressed the button the drop the iconic ball that marks the start of the new year.

As Frank Sinatra’s ‘New York, New York’ played through the square, couples embraced and kissed as confetti rained down.
