The hotel room items guests can’t resist taking

From Quartz.

Deluxe Holiday Homes surveyed more than 1,000 hotel workers to identify items most frequently taken by guests, highlighting routine property losses. This report outlines the most stolen hotel items across rooms and amenities. It compiles a hotel theft survey of commonly removed goods and their prevalence. Towels rank first, with nearly 90% of staff reporting incidents; robes follow at roughly 66%. Hangers place third, cited by more than half of respondents. Toiletries such as soap and tissues appear next, which many hotels treat as theft when removed. Blankets and pillows are frequently taken, followed by hair dryers. About 21% of workers note pens missing, with dishes and glassware later. Remote controls also appear among unusual removals.
