A post from U.S. President Donald Trump’s Truth Social account that shares a video in which Barack and Michelle Obama are superimposed on the bodies of apes was taken down after an outcry on Friday.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Associated Press: "Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public."

"This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from the Lion King," Leavitt said by text.
