The Super Bowl Footballs Have Hidden Microchips

From Cleo Abram.

There’s a microchip in every NFL football!

It tracks the speed and 2D location of the ball, but refs don’t usually use it! The data is mostly used for stats, like you see on TV!

But the NFL is using new tech around the stadium to make calls more accurate – they just installed new high-speed cameras that track the ball and 29 specific points on every player’s body at 60 frames per second.

This will be the first Super Bowl with this new system!
