Kenyan skier ready for Olympic debut as funding gap pushes teammate out

From Reuters.

Skier Issa Laborde is set to make his Olympic debut for Kenya after his compatriot Sabrina Simader withdrew from her own races. Simader, who was Kenya’s first alpine skier at the 2018 Olympics, was planning to come out of retirement for the Milano Cortina Games but pulled out at the last minute, citing a lack of financial support.
