“We’re one big family”: Tumbler Ridge, BC mayor calls for unity after school shooting

From Global News.

The mayor of Tumbler Ridge, B.C., says the small community is “one big family” that will support each other after Tuesday’s deadly school shooting.

Darryl Krakowka told Global News Morning Edmonton residents must lean on one another and seek help if needed.

He said counsellors with “boots on the ground” are expected to assist families, teachers and first responders. Krakowka added the town will “work through this as a family” as the RCMP investigation continues.

At least nine people were killed in a school shooting Tuesday afternoon in British Columbia’s Peace region, in which the suspected shooter also ended up dead.
