Several thousand Kurds and activists demonstrate in Strasbourg to demand that Turkey release Kurdish leader and founder of the PKK, Abdullah Öcalan. A demonstration is held every year in February in Strasbourg to mark the date of Öcalan’s arrest, known as “Apo” to his supporters, on February 15, 1999, by the Turkish secret services in Kenya.
