From Global News.
First responders in Tumbler Ridge are being recognized for their swift actions during last week’s deadly school shooting.
Two RCMP officers were first on scene, with the National Police Federation saying they “ran into gunfire” and helped save lives.
Local paramedics, many of whom have lived in the community for decades, also responded, supported by a critical incident stress team.
Outside officers are now staffing the detachment to allow members time to heal from what officials describe as a devastating and traumatic event. Kristen Robinson reports.
