“I’m lucky to be alive”: Woman rescued from moose attack by son

A Saskatchewan man is being hailed as a hero after fighting off a moose to save his mother in Bienfait.

Shawn Tuffnell says he found his mom, Angie Tuffnell, pinned beneath the animal outside their home on Jan. 22.

He grabbed a shovel and later a gun, shooting the moose multiple times to stop the attack.

Both suffered treatable injuries, and the moose was later taken to Saskatoon for testing. Sania Ali reports.
