Canada had historical outbreak of measles in 2025 with 5000 plus cases: Report

At just seven weeks into the new year, the U.S. has already reached 910 cases of measles infections, according to the latest numbers released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The majority of cases are among kids and teens aged five to 19. South Carolina is the current hot spot for the disease with 616 cases so far.

In Canada, 135 cases have been confirmed so far, according to the Canadian government. But in 2025, Canada reported 5,450 cases compared to the average of 91 cases per year from 1998-2024.
