Afghan man accused in DC National Guard shooting to face murder charges, prosecutors say

Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the 29-year-old Afghan national accused of shooting two National Guard members near the White House in Washington, DC, on Nov. 26, will face first-degree murder charges according to prosecutors.

U.S. Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, died of her wounds on Nov. 27, and President Donald Trump said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24, was “fighting for his life” and remained hospitalized in critical condition.
