There are calls for better emergency communication following the deaths of two West End residents in Montreal during what’s being called the longest power outage to hit the area since the ’98 ice storm.
The interim mayor of Côte-des-Neiges delivered condolences to those close to 87-year-old Sheila Padmore, who died after spending over two days in her home without electricity.
The coroner is now investigating both cases.
As Dan Spector tells us, officials are planning a long introspection to prevent similar deaths in the future.
