It was a record-breaking summer for the Canadian tourism industry.
New data from the Crown corporation promoting Canadian travel shows that the tourism sector generated nearly $60 billion from May to August, marking a 6 percent increase year-over-year.
Canadians avoided travelling to the U.S. and chose to explore their own country instead. And the numbers also indicate that both Canadians and foreigners are losing interest in U.S. travel.
