From Global News.
Prime Minister Mark Carney will announce new measures on Friday to "bring costs down for Canadians."
Carney will be joined by François-Philippe Champagne, minister of finance and national revenue, for the announcement.
It comes days after the prime minister travelled to Washington, D.C. to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. Following the meeting, Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc said Canada and the U.S. would begin working "quickly" on a deal that would bring "greater certainty" to the steel, aluminum and energy sectors.
LeBlanc said the deals would be a "first step" toward future conversations addressing sector-specific U.S. tariffs on other key Canadian industries, including lumber and the auto sector.
