From Global News.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to provide an update Monday on his government’s new "Buy Canadian" policy.
The announcement comes days after the Carney government survived a second vote of confidence over the budget in the House of Commons on Friday.
The vote was on an amendment to the budget put forward by the Bloc Québécois.
The Bloc’s motion had support from the seven NDP MPs and from Green Party Leader Elizabeth May but both Liberals and Conservatives voted against it. The motion was defeated with 30 votes for and 307 against.
It comes after the NDP, Bloc Québécois and May voted with the minority Liberals to defeat a Conservative sub-amendment to the budget on Thursday.
