Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pushed back against President Donald Trump’s claim that Canada "lives because of the United States," saying the country thrives on its own values of inclusion, openness and shared prosperity.

Carney’s response came after Trump told the crowd in Davos that he should be grateful for the United States’ previous generosity, addressing the prime minister directly, saying "Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements."
