Rape, long a weapon of war in Congo, has surged since the Rwanda-backed rebels of M23 seized a large swathe of eastern Congo in a lightning offensive this year in their bid to topple the government in Kinshasa. Reuters spoke with 46 victims of sexual assault, nearly half of them children, who described horrific abuse at the hands of the insurgents as well as other armed actors. Reuters tells their stories.
