From Global News.
Dozens of Indigenous protesters blockaded the front entrance of the COP30 summit in Brazil on Friday, forcing delegates to enter through a side door.
The protesters are demanding the government halt all development projects in the Amazon rainforest, including the construction of a new railway for transporting mining and agricultural products.
“They deforested everything and we’re now scorching under the sun,” said Alessandra Korap Munduruku, one of the protesters.
On Tuesday, dozens of Indigenous protesters forced their way into the COP30 venue, clashing with security guards at the front entrance.
On Friday, a gathering of youth activists also protested climate inaction outside the COP30 venue, as the summit wrapped up its final week.
