Denmark vows to increase military presence in Greenland after Trump says US “needs” the country

From Global News.

Denmark has vowed to increase its military presence in Greenland – an autonomous Danish territory – amid continued threats from the U.S. that the nation could be annexed.

Danish Defence Minister Truls Lund Poulsen confirmed their larger military footprint was agreed upon by the Greenlandic government, calling it “the right thing to do,” as Denmark pushed NATO take “greater interest” in the security of Greenland.

In his latest claim as to why the U.S. “needs” ownership of the Arctic nation, President Donald Trump said it would be for the benefit of American “national security.”

This Truth Social post came on Wednesday morning, before a meeting between U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Defence Secretary Marco Rubio, and the foreign ministers of both Denmark and Greenland.
