European troops in Greenland “would not affect” Trump’s views on annexing nation: White House

From Global News.

Reports of European troops being deployed in Greenland would reportedly “not affect” U.S. President Donald Trump’s goal to annex the Arctic nation, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has confirmed.

“I don’t think troops in Europe impact the president’s decision – making process, or nor does it impact his goal of the acquisition of Greenland at all,” the Republican representative told reporters Thursday.

In his latest claim as to why the U.S. “needs” ownership of the Arctic nation, Trump said it would be for the benefit of American “national security.”
This came prior to a meeting between Vice President JD Vance, Defence Secretary Marco Rubio, and the foreign ministers of both Denmark and Greenland.

Regarding the U.S. Envoy to Greenland’s absence from the Washington gathering Wednesday, Leavitt assured reporters that “talks on the acquisition was Greenland” were “good” and that they will rake place roughly “every two to three weeks.”
