Farmers angered by the culling of herds affected by lumpy skin disease block the A75 motorway in Aveyron, southern France, protesting a government policy they say threatens their livelihoods. The French authorities have ordered the slaughter of entire herds where the disease is detected, a move that comes as the European Union is expected next week to approve a trade deal with South America that farmers fear will flood the market with cheaper agricultural imports.
