FTC accuses Ticketmaster, Live Nation of illegal ‘resale’ tickets

From NPR.

The Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, accusing the companies of participating in illegal resale tactics.

The lawsuit alleges that Ticketmaster willingly misleads consumers about ticket prices and cooperates with scalpers to markup resale prices — all at the expense of artists and music fans. Seven states joined the FTC’s legal complaint: Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nebraska, Tennessee, Utah and Virginia.
