Sunday’s top story: An ongoing labour dispute could upend many Canadians’ holiday travel plans. Pilots at Air Transat have given notice that they are preparing to go on strike this Wednesday. As a result, the Canadian airline said it will begin grounding flights starting Monday, and will suspend all service on Tuesday, unless a last-minute deal can be reached. In the U.S., Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is doubling down on his decision to strike a suspected Venezuelan drug cartel boat. The vessel was hit twice – the second strike targeting two survivors clinging to the wreckage. As Candice Cole reports, the controversy has lawmakers on both sides questioning both the legality of the strikes and Hegseth’s leadership.

Over in India, a deadly fire tore through a nightclub in Goa – a resort region massively popular with tourists. The blaze killed dozens of people, and authorities are still investigating the cause. Jillian Piper reports.

Back in Canada, the federal NDP is set to pick a new leader in less than four months – March 29, to be specific – as the party looks to rebuild after its worst showing in decades.
