Hegseth says he’s “proud” of boat strikes near Venezuela but won’t release full video

From Global News.

U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Tuesday he would not release the full video of a strike on an alleged drug boat near Venezuela, despite Democrats calls for it to be released to the public.

Following a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Adam Schiff said he would release a live unanimous consent request to have the full video released to both U.S. Congress and the public.

“The public should see this,” he said, adding: “I found the legal explanations and the strategic explanations incoherent.”

Hegseth said the Trump administration was “proud” of its actions in the Caribbean but said his department would not release the full video to the public. This comes amid ongoing backlash over a Sept. 2 strike that reportedly had survivors and was followed by a second strike, leading to accusations of potential war crime violations.
