House votes to release Epstein files. Here’s what’s next

From PBS NewsHour.

The U.S. House voted overwhelmingly with bipartisan support to force the Justice Department to release its files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The vote comes after President Donald Trump called on lawmakers to support the measure. Trump had campaigned against the petition for the past several weeks.

The measure now heads to the Senate, where the chamber has agreed to pass it by unanimous consent. That means that once the Senate receives the measure from the House, it will be transmitted to Trump for his signature.
