From Global News.
Iranian Montrealers took to the streets on Tuesday to show their support for the ongoing protests in Iran. The demonstration mirrors many across the globe as expats demand an end to Ali Khamenei’s clerical regime in Iran.
“The reality of it is that civilian deaths in Ukraine over 3 years were 14,500. While in a few days the supposed government of my country has killed 12,000 civilians,” one protester said.
The protesters are hoping their voices bring attention to their goal of overthrowing Khamenei and bringing the exiled son of the last Shah, Reza Pahlavi, back to aid in a transition. The communications blackout makes it hard to know an accurate death toll from the uprising. Dan Spector reports.
